GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS

All fees are subject to GST except OEF drug testing fee and the Jump Canada Levy.  

 Every Class offered herein, which is covered by the rules and specifications of the E.C. Rule Book, will be conducted and judged in accordance  therewith.  All questions not covered by these rules shall be decided by the show management, whose decision will be final.    The show management further reserves the right to cancel, postpone, change or reschedule any class or condition they deem advisable in their sole discretion..

ENTRIES:  All entries received after the entry closing date will be assessed a $25.00 post entry fee. Entries made the day of the competition will pay an additional premium of $5.00 per class. Phone entries will not be accepted.  Faxes will be accepted and  are the responsibility of the sender to verify that the paperwork was received by the horse show secretary.  Numbers will not be issued until the entries are completed and signed and an OPEN CHEQUE is left with the office.

All Entries must have proper signatures, complete addresses, EC, OEF and Passport numbers. EC and OEF membership numbers for all riders and owners, and Passport Numbers for all horses are mandatory.  Current copies of all memberships must accompany entries and passports must be submitted to the horse show office. Entries competing without these numbers will not receive any provincial points and will be required to pay temporary membership fees and may receive warning letters from the EC and/or be fined.

It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to provide to the horse show office valid proof of all memberships prior to competing.  Any one competing without valid proof of 2007 EC membership and /or EC passport will pay the temporary membership/passport fee at each competition until it is provided.  These fees are non refundable upon the completion of the respective competition.

ADDSClass and division ADDS for entries received by the closing date, will be accepted in the show office without penalty prior to the day of the class or division if scheduling permits.

DAY OF ADDS/ENTRIES: will only be accepted at the discretion of the office and may be required to pay the late fee.

EARLY BIRD CLASSES are treated the same as any other class.  These classes must be entered in the show office.  For exhibitor’s convenience you may add these classes at the gate but must fill out the add & scratch form with the ingate person before entering the ring.

SCRATCHES:  must be in writing and delivered to the horse show office.  Faxes are acceptable but phone messages are not.  Valid scratches prior to the day before the show, will be refunded all fees less a scratch fee and the administration fee.  Once the show has started, there will be NO REFUNDS unless the horse had been examined by the horse show veterinarian and a certificate is received in the office before the end of the show.  PLEASE NOTE that certificates from private veterinarians will not be accepted.  Any horse that does not compete in a class in which it was entered, and does not scratch according to the scratch procedures , will be billed for the class.

Division entry fees in hunter classes cannot be billed as individual classes.  If an entry adds into one class of a division, the full division entry fee will apply.

PenaltiesInterest will be charged at the rate of 2%  per month on all unpaid accounts.

If an exhibitor violates a cross entry rule, the entry fee and any prize money will be forfeited.

Deadline to split trainer account charges is 1 p.m. Friday.  A $25 charge will apply to all split charges after this time.  Trainers must visit the horse show office prior to this time to calculate and sign your split instructions.

Notice To American Exhibitors: While every effort will be made to assist you in the variances of the EC rules over AHSA rules, the sole responsibility is entirely the Exhibitors to be aware of the EC rules.  The Teaspoon Syndicate does not accept cheques marked payable in Canadian funds drawn on a US account.

STABLING:  Permanent box stalls @ $135/wk plus.  STALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.    ALL STALLS MUST BE BOOKED IN WRITING BY THE ENTRY CLOSING DATE to The Teaspoon Syndicate.  You are responsible for payment on all stalls ordered.  Stalls should be booked using the stall request form found in the prize list.  Stalls are available after 8am on the day prior to the beginning of the show and all horses must be removed by 10am the day following the show. Horses arriving before 7am or after 9pm must make prior arrangement to receive their stalls. All pre show hay and shavings must be booked the day before arrival.  Stalls are checked routinely and any horse found occupying a stall without proper authorization will be charged the full weekly rate, regardless of the time used.

Day Stalls: Overnight and day stalls must be requested in advance in writing and cannot be guaranteed until weekly stalls have been allotted.  Rates are $40.00/day (6am – 6pm) or $65 overnight

Non-Showing Horses:  will be charged a fee of $50 to be on the grounds during the horse show.  All horses must have a number, which must be worn in all schooling areas and rings.

Campers:  Camper spaces are available in our Camper area for $75 per show. There is absolutely no gray water drainage allowed on the grounds. Any exhibitor not abiding by our City by-law will be fined and removed from the property.

Returned Cheques:  $50.00 will be charged on all returned cheques and the exhibitor will not be allowed to show at any future Hendervale shows until the account has been settled.  Any exhibitor who may have an outstanding account with the Teaspoon Syndicate must satisfy this account before entries will be accepted.  If an account has remained unpaid for a length of time you may      be considered a “Cash only” customer.  Please contact our office for further information.

Prize Money:  will be credited to each horse’s account.  Prize cheques made payable to the owner of the entry will be mailed within 21 days of the close of the show.  Complete addresses MUST be given to the horse show office.

Pets:  All pets must be kept on a leash.  Owners of loose pets will be fined $100 on the first occurrence. If found loose a second time, owner will be required to remove the animal from the property.  No pets are allowed around the show rings.  Please abide by the “Poop & Scoop” consideration.

Schedule: Management may move the start time of any class forward by 30 minutes without notice to exhibitors.

Dress Code: See rule G107.  Polo shirts are acceptable attire in the jumper rings during the week unless otherwise noted.  Proper attire (jackets, ties, chokers, etc.) is required for all jumpers beginning Saturday morning and for the balance of the show, unless waived at management’s discretion.

Hay & Shavings Orders:  Pre-arrival hay & shavings orders must be in writing by 5 pm on the day before arrival.  During the show, orders received by 11 am will be delivered that afternoon.  Orders received after 11 am will be delivered the following day.  No orders accepted after 11am  Saturday

Vehicles:  All vehicles must be parked in designated areas only.  No parking on roadways or in the barn areas at any time.  All motorized vehicles including golf carts, scooter, dirt bikes,  4 wheelers, etc may be operated BY LICENSED DRIVERS ONLY.

Wash Racks:  Horses must be bathed in wash rack areas only.  No bathing in stall areas.  The wash rack area is for bathing horses only.

Veterinarian/Farrier Services:  All owners and exhibitors will be held responsible for any bills for veterinary, farrier and food service.  Any exhibitor not meeting these obligations may be deemed an undesirable exhibitor and entries from that exhibitor may not be accepted at subsequent shows.

JUMPER RULES & REGULATIONS

JUMPER NOMINATION:  Jumper nominations are required for all jumpers at all shows with the exception of the The Eastern Canada Winter Farewell Show, Schooling Low, the Junior Amateur Section 1, and Green Jumper.  There is no exception to this rule. Nomination fees will be refunded less a $25.00 processing fee and a scratch fee if the following conditions are met: 1) the horse has not shown in any classes. 2) the horse show veterinarian must issue a certificate.

All Jumper Classes will be conducted under Article 238 AM5 unless otherwise specified.  Riders are reminded that they must declare each day for the next day’s classes.  You may choose to remain in one division and declare on the entry form at the time of entering or at the office prior to the show for all of your classes.  Riders must declare the day before the show for their first day’s classes.  Declarations must be in the horse show office by 5pm or will

be processed as a late/post entry.  Scratches the day of the class are non-refundable.  Telephone Declarations are Not Acceptable.

Exhibitors are encouraged to enter the classes they plan to show in on their original entryThere are no penalties to make changes prior to 5 PM on the day before the class.  Entering classes on the entry form will greatly assist management in scheduling an efficient timetable for exhibitors.  Entry forms submitted without classes selected will automatically be assessed the nomination fee.  Any class offering prize money may be combined or cancelled if there are less than 8 entries in the class.

Junior/Amateur JumpersUpward movement of a horse/rider combination is allowed at the show, but downward movement is restricted to one level only.

EC Ratings: All classes are rated except the Schooling and Training Jumpers which are Non-rated.
